MUST week

Teiresias Centre – Support Centre for Students with Special Needs at Masaryk University organizes a week-long staff training on Inclusive Higher Education & Universal Design for Learning. Participants will be presented with the principles of universal design for learning, as well as other approaches and good practices when it comes to building an inclusive environment at a higher education institution.

Staff week is open both to academics and non-academics interested in any of the following topics:

  • inclusive education;
  • assistive technologies;
  • inclusive mobility;
  • support of students with special needs in the EU, the Czech Republic;
  • services for students with dyslexia, psychological disorders, autism spectrum disorder;
  • services for students with sensory impairment (visual, hearing, mobility);
  • language courses for students with special needs;
  • braille encoding;
  • tactile printing;
  • hybrid books;
  • sign language in higher education;
  • special maths;
  • etc.

The training features a general introduction to the topic of inclusive higher education institutions, specifics of the Czech Republic approach (dedicated nation-wide funding for HEI), and the principles at Masaryk University itself. Training will be conducted in English.
 


When: from 12 to 16 May, 2025

Price: 150 EUR (accommodation and food not included, apart from daily coffee breaks)
Registration is open until February 28, 2025.
